Cuvee Bistro, Destin, FL

This was one of my favorite tastes of our Memorial Day trip to Destin.  Karen (our hostess with the mostest) and I managed to slip away by ourselves for an hour while the menfolk were jetskiing to this lovely, tranquil, European-style bistro less than a mile from her house (some people have all the luck!).  We only stayed for wine and a couple of tapas, but what little we had was SO wonderful.

Perusing the bar menu over a cool glass of Hess Chardonnay:
At her recommendation, we shared Creehan’s Eggplant with Crabmeat, Garlic, Meuniere Sauce & Hollandaise.  Now it was MY turn to find nirvana!  The eggplant was tender and perfect, the lump crabmeat was sweet and plentiful, and I wanted to lick that sauce right off of the plate.
We also ordered Kendall Brooks Smoked Salmon with Horseradish Aioli, Crispy Capers & Rosemary Foccacia Bread which similarly rocked our respective taste buds.
Note to self:  Be nice to Ed and Karen so they'll invite you back one day and you can all go to dinner at Cuvee Bistro.
