Apple House, Bat Cave, NC

The sweetest things in life don't always come from 4-star restaurants...boiled peanuts, pumpkin butter and raw honey from a rural Appalachian town prove that. Score!

My "bounty". A couple of Hilton breakfast buffet biscuits are going to be made mighty special tomorrow A.M. And, no...you can't have any of my peanuts. :p

  1. I'm loving all of the posts lately! You're spoiling us readers though...we're going to get used to this, ya know. :)

I've never had boiled peanuts (though, I'm a peanut freak so I'm sure I'd love them), but I'm quite fond of pumpkin butter. MMMM. My sister brought me some pumpkin almond butter last fall when she visited. Delish!

  2. Hayley...they're an old rural south treat with a taste and texture not unlike black-eyed peas. Good chit!
